On February 11, 2016, Australian fashion house MYER hosted 100 guests for a black tie dinner and an intimate Autumn 2016 presentation.
Breaking away from its usual mega-runway scene, MYER ambassador Jennifer Hawkins led a bevvy of beauties through The Cutaway in Sydney’s Barangaroo, where the designers’ pallet of predominantly black and white pieces made a chic statement against the venue’s expansive sandstone cavern.
Kevin Murphy and SESSION.MASTER James Nicholson opted for a tight pony to contrast the bold bell sleeves, fringed leather, lace, suede and sequins that dominated the designers’ collections. With accessories ranging from shaker hats to motorcycle helmets, the sleek ‘doo was the perfect choice to take models across the designers’ distinct moments.
Amid a sea of ponytails, face of MYER Jennifer Hawkins donned wavy locks crowned by a half-up topknot. Her look graduated to an effortlessly chic updo just before a faux summer shower wowed the crowd.
With some of Australia’s most famous faces in attendance (including Shanina Shaik on the runway, Rachael Finch, Kyly Clarke, Kate Waterhouse, and Napoleon Perdis), the press went into a frenzy at MYER’s “who’s who” of fashion.
